Hi, I'm Emily and I'm a user experience designer who wants to leave the world better than I found it by co-designing solutions to social problems with the people who are most affected by them.
I'm currently a Foster America Fellow working at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services in Pittsburgh where I'm helping to improve client experiences and learning anything and everything about child welfare and behavioral health policy and practice. Before that, I was honored to serve as a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow.
Prior to that I spent a decade in the private sector as a designer and art director. I hold an MA in Social Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art, was a board member and creative director for Girls Rock! Rochester, and taught Public & Social Service Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where I received a BFA in Graphic Design.
I have a passion for research, digital UX and service design, social equity, and efforts that support the healthy development of children and families.
