Community Health Worker Toolkit

Community Health Worker Toolkit

Community health workers (CHWs) are members of a community who are trained to provide basic health and medical care to their neighbors. They serve as an important link for preventive care between large healthcare systems and communities.

The Executive Director of the Behavioral Health Leadership Institute, who is also a Bloomberg School of Public Health professor, identified a need for an easy-to-understand training toolkit for community health workers in Maryland. Together, we developed an outline for the toolkit, and I assisted in researching content that related to my thesis work on adverse childhood experiences. Once the content was drafted by the Executive Director and her team, I designed the toolkit.
